Upright Piano Moving
An upright piano typically weighs between 150kg and 300kg depending on size and age. It will require a minimum of 3-4 trained movers, a piano board and proper stair-handling equipment if there’s a multi-floor moves.
We will ensure that the keyboard lid is locked and secured. Your piano will be wrapped in specialist padding before it is placed on the piano board.
For lifts and staircases, we assess the access route beforehand to confirm clearance. Your piano will be securely transported in our lorry and positioned in your new home before wrapping is removed.
Baby Grand Piano Moving
A baby grand piano (typically 1.5m to 1.7m in length, weighing between 200kg to 350kg) requires partial disassembly for safe relocation.
We will ensure all removed components are wrapped individually and transported alongside the main body. At the destination, we assemble the piano in the correct position before any wrapping is removed. Our team will confirm that the lid and pedal mechanism are correctly refitted before handover.
Grand Piano Moving
A full grand piano (1.8m to 3m in length, weighing between 300kg to 600kg) is the most complex piano move we handle. In addition to full disassembly (legs, lyre, lid), a grand piano may require stair ramps, additional manpower, or in some cases professional craning equipment if access routes do not permit safe manual handling.
We will conduct a mandatory onsite assessment before booking any grand piano move. This allows us to assess access routes, staircase dimensions, lift capacity, and the specific handling requirements of your instrument. The assessment is free and of no-obligation.

This is the third time we’re moving with them and they even sent the same wonderful team. We asked them to pack for us and with our 2 bedrooms, they came in, packed, and moved us all in one hour (!) We did move in the same building and we don’t have much furniture but it was still impressive and they were careful about not scratching surfaces, plus checked with us constantly what was ours and what was the landlord’s so they moved the right things. They also were helpful in applying to the condo for the permit to use the freight elevator– all in all, a wonderful experience- again!
And as I mentioned last time, recycling boxes is the cherry on the cake for us- we didn’t have to buy boxes and at the end of it they took them back to reuse! 🙂
